The role of education
With teaching experience as part of our portfolio, we understand the needs of teachers and the importance of relevant links to the curriculum. It is our aim, therefore, to tailor make tours for schools that fulfill key criteria but, at the same time, give students valuable opportunities to develop as individuals as well as team members. Life time changes so often happen outside the classroom.
With each tour, there will always be a strong focus on respect and empathy for others and appreciation of the experiences they have. By combining economic, social and environmental understanding in each country we visit, our goal is for each student to gain a clear perspective of the human condition and the human impact on the environment. Beauty can be best appreciated by those who value it.
Tours can be designed to support schools involved in the International Award; in particular, the Adventurous Journey aspect which focuses on adventure and discovery. All tours aim to develop an understanding of the environment and issues that face each country from a local as well as global perspective. Emphasis is also given to the importance of working together in a team with a common purpose.
Each tour will have a main focus subject with other subjects integrated into the programme. Each tour will also have an environmental focus, which will be connected to a specific environmental project or issue in each country. As part of the preparation stage of the tour, students and teachers will be shown a presentation that will enhance greater understanding of environmental issues, both locally as well as in relation to the tour destination.
